The Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) focused on the autopsy of President John F. Kennedy (JFK) for the most part during their tenure in the 1990s.
During their time they highlighted important discrepancies between official documents. This post looks at one of the these discrepancies.
In MD 161 they note a very important discrepancy that was highlighted in a Dallas Texas evening newspaper. The document begins with an odd comment.

I have never heard of Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) having the alias of “Dash R Dash Cuba", have you? What does this mean? Was this recognition of LHO being in the employ of the FBI and his assignment was in the area of Cuba? The Cuban exiles to be specific? This is very interesting.
The main point of this one-page teletype is in regards to the autopsy. It states the following.

An article appearing in the evening Dallas, Texas, newspaper, prepared by staff writer Bill Burrus, Dateline Bethesda, Maryland, reflects a still unannounced autopsy report from the US Naval Hospital reflecting President Kennedy was shot in the back and the bullet, which had a hard metal jacket, exited through his throat. This does not agree with the autopsy findings at the Bethesda Hospital as reported on page two eight four of the report of SA Robert Gemberling of December ten, last, which reflects an opening was found in the back, that appeared to be a bullet hole, and probing of this hole determined the distance traveled by the missile was short as the end of the wound could be felt by the examining doctor/s [sic] finger. (Ibid.)

This is a major discrepancy as if the wound only penetrated a short distance it could NOT have exited the throat as the Warren Commission (WC) claimed. It means that the Single Bullet Theory (SBT) is false and there was more than one shooter which equates to a conspiracy.
Let’s look at the Robert Gemberling's report dated December 10, 1963, to see what it said on this issue.

…During the latter stages of this autopsy, Dr. HUMES located an opening which appeared to be a bullet hole which was below the shoulders and two inches to the right of the middle line of the spinal column.
This wound was probed by Dr. HUMES with the finger, at which time it was determined…that the distance travelled by this missile was a short distance inasmuch as the end of the opening could be felt with the finger. (Commission Document 7, p. 284)

This is a major discrepancy. Any court of law would side with what was observed at the autopsy and not what is claimed later on. The autopsy is conducted to determine the cause of death so it has priority in a court of law.
Discrepancies like this are why very few people believe the official conclusion anymore. The SBT was never supported let alone proven, and without it the WC's case is dead on arrival.
