The Warren Commission (WC) claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) shot and killed Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit (JDT) all by himself, but the evidence they provided us with in their twenty-six volumes tends to show that a conspiracy occurred instead.
As we have seen in quite a few posts on this topic, from many angles, there simply is no evidence showing LHO shot JDT as claimed.
This post will look at another angle—the official police transmissions following the shooting.
*************************************************
Remember what we covered in the last post as we saw there was a rush to remove JDT’s body BEFORE the police even arrived on the scene. Why? This means when the police did arrive, along with their FBI sidekick, they had NO body to work with. They had NO idea of exactly where the body was laying and how it was laying following the shooting. This key information was missing. They also did NOT do a “knock on all doors approach” so they had gathered no information that way either. Despite this, they would make an arrest in approximately THIRTY MINUTES (1:22 P.M. arrival—1:51 P.M. arrest of LHO) for the murder of JDT.
Pretty astounding work, huh?
We have also seen that the jacket found, NOT by Captain Westbrook as claimed, but by a mysterious and unknown “Officer 279” was white, NOT gray like Commission Exhibit (CE) 162. Captain Westbrook said as much in front of the WC.
Mr. BALL. Did you ever find some clothing?
Mr. WESTBROOK. That was before, Mr. Ball.
Mr. BALL. When was that?
Mr. WESTBROOK. Actually, I didn't find it--it was pointed out to me by either some officer that--that was while we were going over the scene in the close area where the shooting was concerned, someone pointed out a jacket to me that was laying under a car and I got the jacket and told the officer to take the license number.
We have seen that “officer” was this mysterious unknown 279 and we saw that in CE 1974 the following transmission from 279.

279 (unknown) We believe we’ve got that suspect on shooting this officer out here. Got his white jacket. Believe he dumped it on this parking lot behind this service station at 400 block East Jefferson across from Dudley-Hughes and he had a white jacket on. We believe this is it.
Dispatcher 10-4, you do have the suspect, is that correct.
279 (unknown) No, just the jacket laying on the ground.

We see a WHITE jacket was found behind the service station, NOT a gray jacket like CE 162. We have confirmation of this from the WC’s own star witness too—Helen Markham.
Mr. BALL. Who told you he had on a white jacket?
Mr. POE. Mrs. Markham told me first.
Thus the following was transmitted out by the officers on the scene of the JDT shooting.
Mr. BALL. Do you know what the description was?
Mr. POE. White male, about 25, about 5 feet 8, brown hair, medium, and I believe she said had on a white jacket at the time.
LHO did NOT own a white jacket as Marina Oswald said he owned ONLY two jackets and one was gray and one was blue. It would appear the WC had a quandary here, but as usual they just took amnesia pills and claimed CE 162 was the jacket found.
The transmissions involving the weapon were even worse, if that is possible, for the WC. In CE 705 we see the following transmission by Officer 221 (H.W. Summers).

I got an eyeball witness to the get-away man; that suspect in this shooting….about last seen running on the North side of the street from Patton on Jefferson; East Jefferson, and was apparently ARMED with a 32, dark finish, AUTOMATIC PISTOL which he had in his right hand. (CE 705, p. 416) (Emphasis added)

The dispatcher then says 10-4 and alerts the officer that the suspect is trapped in a library on Marsalis and Jefferson, and then ALL the cops are pulled from the area. This would include those at the Texaco station where the jacket was found and a man is hiding behind cars and trapped. Then “19” transmits it was “The WRONG man.” The dispatcher tells everyone to disregard the information on the man as he is the “wrong man” as if they knew who the right man was supposed to be. We are talking shortly after the shooting for goodness sake, don’t you think they should have brought in anyone they were suspicious of to figure it out later?
The alleged murder weapon of JDT was a .38 Special revolver, NOT a .32 automatic, so where did this description come from? As we see with the Mauser issue this is a very SPECIFIC type as a .32 is NOT as common as a .38 so why was this given as the type of gun IF It wasn't actually seen?
This next transmission also does NOT support the WC's claim and it is found in CE 1974?

550/2 (Sergeant G. Hill) The shell at the scene indicates that the suspect is ARMED with an AUTOMATIC .38 RATHER THAN A PISTOL. (CE 1974, p. 870; p. 78 in original) (Emphasis mine)

This means we now have TWO transmissions stating the suspect was armed with an AUTOMATIC and NONE saying he was armed with a revolver. The later excuse of Hill saying he was confused by the way the shells were found on the ground is ludicrous, and even if he was confused, the shells in question have things like “AUTO” and “.38 Special” on them to help you out. Besides, a revolver shell looks very different from an automatic shell.
