The Warren Commission (WC) said Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) shot and killed President John F. Kennedy (JFK) all by himself. If that is was true why have we seen so many cases of foreknowledge in this case? I have done numerous incidents that showed foreknowledge (Abeline call, Eugen Dinkin incident, Terre Haute rifle incident, assassination attempts in Chicago and Tampa, etc…) of the murder so how do we square this with one man acting alone?
This post will be another in this line as it will look at a story told by a Los Angeles policeman that involves a future Senator, a famous movie actor and a Dallas Sheriff.
*********************************
The following story will be excerpted from Investigating Possible Conspiracies and Cover-ups – JFK, The Moon Landings, etc. by Wade Frazier. Yes, he does NOT help us by lumping the very important JFK assassination with the Moon landing issue, but this story is very important, so we have to consider it. Here is a link to the page:
www.ahealedplanet.net/cover-up.htm#wean
Gary Wean was a sailor in World War II and following the war he joined the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). He would work in both Ventura County and Los Angeles (LA) throughout the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. He would start as a motorcycle cop directing traffic and work his way up to detective. He would work downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood too so he became accustomed to dealing with politicians, celebrities and gangsters as this was a common thing in his job.
Wean would write a book called There’s A Fish In The Courtroom that would be published in 1987 and the book tells of a meeting he had in late 1963 that pertains to the JFK assassination. Wean was friends with actor Audie Murphy and one of Murphy’s good friends was Dallas County Sheriff (DCS) Bill Decker. Decker it seems came to California regularly (keep in mind Braden had extensive mob ties and resided in California—see #212 for more on a meeting on 11/21/63 between Braden, Meyers and Ruby) and each time Wean would setup a meeting for him along with himself and Murphy at the Los Angeles Police Academy. One such meeting took place in December 1963 just weeks after JFK had been assassinated. According to Wean the discussion quickly turned to the topic of what weapon experts across the country were saying -- namely how LHO could have killed JFK with a poor shooting location and a mediocre rifle. According to Wean NO one at the table believed LHO could have made those shots. This included Decker and he said he KNEW LHO had NOT made those shots according to Wean.
Decker knew a man who could set the record straight, but did not want to talk with anyone in Dallas or Washington about what he knew. In a week’s time Murphy, Gary and his partner were flying to Ruidoso, New Mexico to meet Decker and his friend. They met them at the local airport and then went to a diner to discuss this further. Decker’s friend’s name was John. John said LHO was anything but a “lone nut:” as he was a U.S. Intelligence agent acting under orders from E. Howard Hunt. He had been recruited while in the Marines (on the recommendation of Ferrie?) and all the strange things we have wondered about (hanging out in Tokyo nightclubs, assigned to U-2 spy plane activities, learning Russian, defection to Russia, etc…) were part of his training. It was noted that LHO’s “fascination” with Communism began at the same time he was in Ferrie’s Civil Air Patrol (CAP). According to John he was developing communist credentials to later infiltrate communist organizations.
LHO was sent to the CIA’s covert operations division and he came under the supervision of E. Howard Hunt. Hunt’s main passion for this time period was getting rid of Castro as he was involved in the Bay of Pigs (BOP) invasion and had dreamed up the idea of assassinating Castro. LHO would be thrown into this area for his first main assignments according to John. LHO was banned from telling Marina anything about his activities as Hunt feared Marina was a Russian spy. This could explain a lot about why Marina knew so little about what he was doing and why he rented rooms. It could also explain why Marina made up nonsense about his shooting at Walker and trying to shoot at Nixon as she really didn’t know what he was doing and went along with the WC to make him look guilty.
Having LHO create a Fair Play for Cuba Committee (FPCC) chapter and allegedly claiming he shot at Walker were all part of building his credentials according to John. LHO was to participate in a FAKE attempt to assassinate JFK so they could blame Castro for it. The story says LHO’s visit to the Cuban Embassy in Mexico City was part of this process, but I have to disagree here since I have NOT seen any evidence that LHO was the one that went there. Same with the Walker shooting.
According to what John told them JFK was not aware of this fake assassination attempt, but high-ranking officials in the government and his administration were. Military Intelligence, the CIA and the FBI were also involved. This could explain why such a C.Y.A. cover-up began immediately. LHO was reluctant at first, but with assurances and after seeing the high level people involved and aware of the plan he decided to join it. According to John LHO was to just fire his rifle into the air, and then go into hiding so a false trial could be laid to Cuba. I have not seen any evidence for LHO firing a weapon, but if he did just fire a rifle into the air (i.e. AWAY from his body and face) this could explain why he had a negative result for the cheeks in the nitrate test. He was told he could then come home to a HERO’S welcome and live a normal life after America mopped up Cuba. This could explain the WC defenders claim that LHO wanted to “be a hero” without him having to shoot anyone too.
According to John this operation was infiltrated (instead of LHO infiltrating the operation to kill JFK) and it was turned around on JFK. Supposedly the real killers tried to kill LHO, but J.D. Tippit (JDT) was in the wrong place at the wrong time. John said under no circumstances would LHO shoot a policeman. I have never seen any evidence for LHO being at 10th and Patton, but perhaps if he was driven there as part of a conspiracy this could be why. Just something to think about.
At the end of his mind-blowing tale, John handed over a thick manila envelope, sealed with wax with a thumbprint on it, that contained the documents John said would prove his story. John said if he went public with his story he would disappear and never be seen again. Murphy and Wean knew this was too big for them to do anything with so they returned home to California with no plans. A few days later Murphy received a call from Decker saying the CIA was in a panic for fear of their involvement coming to light, but things were beginning to calm down as they decided to divert attention under the guise of “national security.” Decker wanted the envelope John had given him back or he said Murphy would be “destroyed.” Murphy did some fast thinking and told Decker that they had torn the envelope into pieces and threw them out of the airplane as they were flying back to California.
Wean said he witnessed all of this and in the first edition of his book he did NOT mention the identity of the man they spoke with. In 1996 a second edition of the book was published and since John had died by then he decided to name him. Gary revealed that “John” was John Tower, the Senator from Texas and George Bush’s friend whom he had nominated to be the Secretary of Defense. I don’t know about you, but his mere friendship with George Bush makes me believe he had either a form of the truth or a version of the story the CIA wanted out. By this I mean the very CIA affiliated Bush either told him the truth in a moment of weakness or told him a version of the story to cover-up the real version of the story.
One of Wean’s big assignments in the 1940s was to keep a watch on Mickey Cohen who was the boss of LA’s crime operation. He would face a murder attempt as well and both Audie Murphy and John Tower would die in plane crashes. In 1946 Wean saw Cohen with someone new at a racetrack. In 1947 he saw him again at a restaurant and despite the man knowing he was a cop (or maybe because he was cop once you know who it is) he struck up a conversation with Wean. He said his name was Jack Ruby. His real name was Jacob Rubenstein and he worked with Mickey Cohen. Ruby told Wean that the mob was focusing its attentions on New Orleans and Havana because that is where the “action was.”
This article also touches on the backyard photographs and this link is very good in showing how the Dallas Police Department (DPD) recreated the pose seen in the Roscoe White copy (133-C) and NOT the official ones CE 133-A and CE 133-B. Here is a link to those photographs.

He points out that that the serial number on the Minox camera initially found by the DPD was #27,259, but Minox would say years later that the serial numbers for camera circa 1963 were above 135,000! Thus, this camera was very old! Where would a broke “lone nut” get this kind of camera from? An intelligence organization would be a safe assumption to me.
I like this comment by Mr. Frazier as this is what I recommend everyone does in this case and other issues.

While performing the research for producing this web site, I had to delve into many controversial areas. The only way to resolve the issues to my satisfaction was to try ignoring what all sides had to say, and evaluate the primary evidence for myself, and try to become my own expert. For a “one-man-show,” such a task is nearly impossible, so I have often relied on secondary evidence, but I also looked at the broad spectrum of secondary evidence (while correlating primary to secondary evidence when I could, to get a feeling for how reliable certain secondary evidence might be), and tried digesting all the available evidence into something coherent. The JFK issue was no exception.

His analysis of the backyard photographs is extensive and I highly recommend you read it. He then goes into the nature of the JFK assassination and makes this very insightful comment.

Independent investigators of the JFK assassination often discuss how unhelpful the CIA and FBI have been. The CIA essentially works for the Fortune 500, just as the American President does. They call themselves an intelligence agency, but their “intelligence” is usually disinformation designed to fool the American public. Covert action is their main function, and it has contributed to the death and misery of countless millions of people. The FBI has been liberally used to derail social movements in the United States. Outright murder of activists for native rights, black rights and the like has been merely days at the office for the FBI.[28] “Fighting crime” has been one of their minor functions. Those organizations are little different than the Soviet Union’s KGB, except that America’s spooks have caused far more death and destruction than the KGB could have ever aspired to. It is well known that many in the American “intelligence community” were very happy when JFK was killed. On that day, in my father’s office in the Department of Defense, one man walked down the halls, shouting his approval of Kennedy’s murder, saying that JFK got what comes to all “tyrants.”

What is obvious when researching the JFK assassination is that at least some theorists and investigators are provocateurs. A classic CIA disinformation ploy is to flood a certain subject with information, some of it true, and some or most of it fabrication. If anybody tries investigating the information, they will find so much false information that it taints whatever might be true. There are an incredible number of JFK assassination theories. One is that Kennedy was hit accidentally by a Secret Service man riding in the car behind him, whose gun accidentally discharged when Kennedy was under fire, giving him his fatal headshot. There is a bizarre theory that there was more than one gunman, but they coincidentally tried to kill Kennedy at the same instant (the Washington Post cooked that one up). That one invokes odds of trillions-to-one. There are even stranger theories than those. Prominent people, such as mainstream journalists, have concocted some of them. They were probably creating their surreal theories under the influence of the CIA or other spook organization. The CIA has operatives in virtually every major media organization. The circus atmosphere of strange theories has served to discredit all assassination theories besides the official “lone nut” one, and sincere researchers are nearly defeated before they begin.
Again, most importantly, what has hurt the independent assassination researchers the most has probably been the behavior of the researchers themselves. Those who independently spend years of their lives investigating the assassination have a trust fund or other source of passive income, are doing it in their spare time, or try to sell the results of their labors. Not too many people have the trust fund option. Also, those who are independently wealthy or have inherited wealth almost always obtained it through the workings of the system, and consequently are rarely going to have the inclination to challenge that system. I have never received a dime of compensation for this work, and have given up hundreds of thousands of dollars of lost income to pursue it, and not many people can do that.
If people put their JFK research out there with their name on it, the provocateurs and others generally take the tactic of discrediting them, and they are instead put into the position of defending themselves, and the evidence they have produced is not considered. It is a classic misdirection tactic. That phenomenon is not limited to investigating conspiracies. My critics do not want to discuss the merits of my propositions, such as whether we are engaging in genocide in Iraq to control Middle East oil, or that we are putting poison in our water supply and calling it medicine. Instead, they attack me for my style, call me names, and otherwise totally avoid the substance of my work.

Don’t we see the same tactic used on this board [JFK Assassination Forum] and other boards? The evidence is NOT discussed by the WC defenders as they prefer to instead attack the messenger. He says what I have said for years though—that the WC defenders are NOT the only guilty ones.

The fact that provocateurs have stirred up plenty of trouble, that independent JFK researchers have not always been pillars of virtue, that they often attack each other, that they become too attached to their theories, should not cloud the question of whether JFK was murdered by a conspiracy. Proving a researcher’s theory wrong does not mean that JFK was not murdered by a conspiracy. The evidence can speak for itself, in those backyard photos.
