One of the most contentious issues in JFK research is the debate between the Single Bullet and Magic Bullet theories. Why can't this issue be satisfactorily resolved? It is my opinion that the main obstacle to any resolution is the following diagram:
Meant to be a damning indictment of impossibility of the SBT it has, in fact, become their strongest argument in favour of it. Here are five reasons why this diagram should be discarded, all points confirmed by photographic and video evidence:
1) In the diagram both men are of equal height. In fact JFK is sat significantly higher than JBC. 2) Both men are sat one directly in front of the other. In fact JFK is sat tight in the corner of the limo while JBC is sat more centrally on the jump seats. 3) JFK's right arm is by his side in the diagram. When JFK was shot his right arm is up at a right angle to his body, resting on the edge of the Presidential limousine. 4) JBC has his right arm contorted up in front of him in the diagram. When he is shot JBC's right arm is resting across his lap. 5) The entrance wound in JFK's back is noticeably lower than subsequent photo's reveal.
Concerning this last point, if we just consider the two points from JFK's back to his throat and forget everything else, where do supporters of the MBT propose this shot is coming from? If we follow the trajectory forwards it goes off into space, following the trajectory backwards it goes into JFK's seat! Any SBT supporter can point out these glaring shortcomings of the MBT and conclude they must be right as there is a lack of an alternative theory. Arguing against them on any of the above points is utterly futile. The MBT is clearly wrong therefore the SBT must be right.
The Zapruder footage confirms the SBT is correct as it is perfectly clear that both JFK and JBC are shot at the same time, just as they are emerging from behind the Stemmons Freeway sign. For me this is perfectly clear and to argue against this turns into a pantomime "Oh no its not, Oh yes it is". If it's a case of you believing I'm wrong and me believing you're wrong it's a stalemate and no progress can be made. The problem, as I see it, is this - if you accept both men are shot at the same time by the same bullet then the SBT must be true. This is simply not the case.
Forget trajectories, seating positions and the rest of it, the only point of significance regarding the weakness of the SBT is the injury to JBC's wrist. The problem for the SBT is the Magic Bullet itself, WC exhibit#CE 399. For this bullet to pass through JFK and JBC and emerge in "pristine" condition is plausible for a high velocity rifle round. For it then to smash through the thick radius bone and penetrate the leg leaving fragments in both and stay "pristine" is bordering on impossible. That this bullet is supposed to have left a fragment in JBC's leg bone then somehow fell out on to the stretcher is also bordering on impossible. That JBC can hang on to his Stetson with such an injury to his wrist is just extremely unlikely.
So we are left with this scenario - both men are shot with the same bullet but this bullet is not responsible for the wrist or leg injury. If this is the case, when do these injuries occur?
They occur at the same time as the damage to the limousine. When JFK's head explodes the interior of the limousine is sprayed with bullet fragments damaging the windscreen and chrome strip above the windscreen. The extent of the damage gives an idea of the power of these flying fragments. The back of JBC's wrist is inches away from the initial explosion of fragments facing directly towards it and it is at this moment his wrist is shattered.

Hi Dan. This seems a little different from what you gave me a link to. What is your position on this case?

Hi John,
In what way is it different from the link? The link is obviously more expansive but exactly the same arguments are made. My position on the case, at this early stage, doesn't get much past what is shown in the Zapruder footage. JFK is shot from behind and from the front. The first shot that hits JFK from behind goes through him and JBC but doesn't cause JBC's wrist injury. That is caused by the head shot from the front which explodes spraying the interior of the limousine with bullet fragments. All this is above and in the link so I'm not 100% sure whether I'm answering your question correctly. In terms of who were the shooters or who organised it all I'm not even close to having any kind of opinion on that. I'm not moving on until I've got a detailed understanding of the incident itself. Also, both above and in the link, I'm proposing the SBT and MBT are abandoned. The MBT (as far as I'm aware) is represented by the diagram above and is hopelessly wrong. The SBT cannot explain JBC's wrist injury in a remotely realistic way.

Hi John,
Just out of curiosity what do you think of the theory I'm proposing? What are its main weaknesses? I've touched on some in the link but I'm sure there are others. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Personally, I don't see fragments doing all the damage to the limousine. There were definitely multiple shooters.

A good point. I'm definitely asking a lot from a single exploding bullet.
