In summary, let's see what the LNers have for evidence in the General Edwin A. Walker (EAW) shooting.
1. There were "pieces of metal" removed from EAW's arm, they claim, which wounded him. Where are they? They don't know.
2. They have a bullet in evidence (CE 573) that they claim was found in the home of EAW, but the detective who found the bullet was never required to testify that CE 573 was the bullet he found.
3. CE 573 appears to be similar to a Western Cartridge bullet that was made for the alleged Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) rifle, but they can't match the bullet to the alleged LHO weapon to the exclusion of all other weapons.
4. They have the account of EAW's aide Robert Surrey,.who refused to tell the truth to the Commission about the "Wanted for Treason" posters 25 times.
5. They have the account as told by Marina Oswald, who would say anything they told her to say, made under the threat of deportation.
6. There are the newspaper accounts describing the bullet as a "steel-jacketed 30.06", precisely the caliber of rifle Arnold Rowland claimed to see in the hands of a gunman on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD), and precisely the same caliber of rifle that Warren Caster brought into the TSBD two days before the arrival of the motorcade.
7. They have an undated note, that they claim was a note from LHO to Marina directing her what to do if he were captured or killed as a result of his attempt on EAW, but NOWHERE in the note is EAW even mentioned. How do we know this wasn't written in connection with Marina's story regarding his "attempt on Richard Nixon?"
There's no PHYSICAL evidence that EAW was wounded during the shooting. In fact, the only source for that account is EAW himself. Surrey claimed to take three pieces of metal out of EAW’s arm, but his credibility is likewise questionable.
EAW was a known "nutcase" who was relieved from his command by the Kennedy Administration for indoctrinating his troops in the ways of the John Birch Society. Unhappy with his reassignment, he eventually "retired".
As a result, he carried on a "private war" against the Kennedys, which included leading an armed insurrection against the enrollment of James Meredith at the University of Mississippi in Oxford in 1962.
As a result of his participation in this sedition and insurrection,.EAW was arrested and held for 30 days observation at a mental institution. Upon his release, he returned to Dallas to a hero's welcome.
