If no Mauser was found as the Warren Commission (WC) said, and its current day defenders say, how do you explain this news report from Dallas on November 22, 1963?
In Commission Exhibit (CE) 3048 we see the following transmission from KBOX (audio reel 1, item 33, November 22, 1963.) in Dallas:

A rifle found in the STAIRCASE on the FIFTH FLOOR of the building on which the assassin is believed to have shot the President of the United States. Sheriff’s deputies identify the weapon as a 7.65 Mauser, a German made Army rifle with telescopic sight. It had one shell in the chamber. Three spent shells were found nearby. (WC Exhibit 3048, p. 159 in original & 599 in WC Exhibits.)

We see quite a few things in conflict with the OFFICIAL version of events in this one short transmission. First of all, the alleged rifle used in the shooting (CE-139) was supposedly found on the SIXTH floor--NOT the fifth floor, thus, we can say they did find more than one rifle. It would seem the accounts of a Mauser being found are again supported by the evidence in the twenty-six volumes.
We again see the caliber of 7.65 mentioned and one has to wonder how they came up with this caliber IF they did NOT see a Mauser as claimed since the alleged murder weapon had “6.5 CAL.” stamped on it. Can any WC defender explain this for me?
As mentioned previously in another post District Attorney (DA) Henry Wade repeated this statement at his press conference on Saturday, November 23, 1963, at 12:30 AM when asked what type of rifle it was. This reply is found in CE-2169 on page 831.

Q. What’s the make of the rifle, sir?
Wade. It’s a Mauser, I believe.

Surely, IF the weapon found was NOT a Mauser they would have corrected this assumption by 12:30 AM the FOLLOWING DAY, right? One would have to think so, but he was still saying it was a Mauser at that point in time.
