In the mid-1990s the Assassinations Records Review Board (ARRB) began their task of securing documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy (JFK). Beyond this they also focused on the supposed autopsy of JFK (I say supposed because the one performed on the slain president did NOT meet the medico-legal standards for an autopsy in any regard).
The ARRB included all three copies of the Death Certificates for JFK in their files. This post is going to look at these to see if they all agree or disagree on the condition of JFK.
The first death certificate was written by JFK's personal physician Dr. George Burkley. Dr. Burkley had been in the motorcade, albeit further back from the presidential limousine, and he arrived at Parkland Hospital (PH) about five minutes after JFK had been taken into the trauma room. He wrote this on page 2 of the death certificate regarding the back wound.

This is NOT where the Warren Commission (WC) placed the wound. Here is the WC's placement.

During the autopsy at Bethesda Naval Hospital another bullet wound was observed near the base of the back of President Kennedy's neck slightly to the right of the spine which provides further enlightenment as to the source of the shots. (WCR, p. 87)

This does NOT match what Dr. Burkley wrote in the Death Certificate at all. The vertebrae of the neck are cervical and are designated as "C" 1-7, whereas Dr. Burkley said the back wound was at the T-3 (Thoracic) level! These are two totally different places on the human body and it would make the Single Bullet Theory (SBT) totally impossible (which it is) as no wound at the T-3 level could exit the throat when it was supposedly traveling DOWNWARD to begin with. Of course the WC never even showed that the back wound was ever connected to the throat wound in any way.
Dr. Burkley also dodged any mention of where the head wound was located. Why? This is especially odd when he was so specific about where the back wound was located.
The second death certificate was created by Dr. William Kemp Clark of PH who had worked on JFK. He said during his WC testimony that this was done at the urging of Dr. Burkley.

Cause of death: Gunshot of Brain (ARRB MD 42, p. 1)

That is it. No description of where the bullet struck the head. No description of the damage to the head. No description of what type of bullet may have been used. Nothing. This was a president and this is all he provided for us and the state of Texas. Death Certificates are similar to Birth Certificates in the sense that they are public records and are meant to inform on the cause of death. Yes, it did this, but it did it in the most vague way possible. It left nothing for future generations who may have an interest in studying this case.
Mr. SPECTER - And did you have any part in the filling out of the death certificate?
Dr. CLARK - Yes.
Mr. SPECTER - And what did you do with respect to that?
Dr. CLARK - I filled out the death certificate at the request of Dr. George Burkley, the President's physician at the White House, signed the death certificate as a registered physician in the State of Texas, and gave this to him to accompany the body to Washington.
So we see that he did his death certificate at the urging of Dr. Burkley. It really doesn't matter as this is the most basic of death certificates that you will ever find. Keep in mind, that this is for a president that was just assassinated. This had to be so vague on purpose as they did NOT want to list the actual wounds that would disagree with the official conclusion later on.
The third death certificate was done by Theron Ward who was a justice of the peace in Dallas. I have no idea why he was doing this instead of Dr. Earl Rose who was the medical examiner for Dallas County. His too is quite vague about the exact location of the wound to the head of JFK.

Cause of Death: Multiple gunshot wounds of the head and neck. (ARRB MD 43, p. 1)

I don't know if he meant that there were multiple gunshots of the head or if he meant a wound for the head and neck. If he means multiple shots of the head then that sinks the official conclusion right there. If it was the latter then I have to ask, why does he think the other wound was in the neck area? No one that saw the body placed the back would in the neck area. No one. ONLY Gerald Ford and Arlen Specter who never saw the body said that the wound was in the neck area.
He then wrote this.

What is odd about this? Well a couple of things. Why did neither of the doctors who wrote the other two death certificates give us this kind of information? I realize that generally only forensic pathologists (medical examiners) can tell ballistics in the cause of death, but the doctors at PH handled hundreds of gunshot patients every year so you would think they would have some experience in telling what kind of weapon may have caused the wound they were looking at. But Clark never said anything. Ditto Burkley.
Furthermore, I have stated for years (and had a number of long debates with WC defenders and a supposed CTer) that the alleged Mannlicher-Carcano (M-C) was NOT a high-powered rifle. Despite Ward not stating it on the death certificate we have to assume the size of the hole he saw made him say this. I have proven to the WC defenders that the M-C in question was not a high-powered rifle (and these posts are on this board), but that is a side issue (that is why they wanted to dwell on it so much for so long). The real issue is this, how could a full-metal jacketed bullet make a hole as big as the doctors saw at PH and the WC admitted to (remember that only the location was disputed by the WC and NOT the size of the wound) when they are NOT designed to do this?
I went through the Geneva Convention rules for the WC defenders to show that all military type ammunition is supposed to adhere to these standards to prevent as much pain as possible. (This is ridiculous as they don't want to prevent killing, but just make it less painful.) There is no way that a full-metal jacketed bullet like the 6.5 mm type the WC claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) used could cause the MASSIVE wound that everyone saw. Furthermore, if it could, why didn't it do this when it hit JFK in the back and allegedly exited his throat? How could two bullets of the same type cause such diametrically different wounds?
He then wrote this on page 2 of the death certificate.

His description of the first wound (back?) is different from all the people who saw the wound as they said it was inches to the right of the spine and below the shoulder. How can a wound be in the center of the body and ABOVE the shoulder? Isn't that called the head? Again, why is a justice of the peace doing a death certificate?
He then says that the head had an entry wound in the back, but again, NO one who saw the body agreed with this. Numerous doctors and nurses at PH, Secret Service (SS) personel and even Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry all said that they saw a MASSIVE wound to the BACK of JFK's head. Why doesn't this death certificate reflect this? Listing false information on a death certificate is considered medical fraud at worst and medical malfeasance at best. Why is a justice of the peace doing a death certificate?
What to make of these three documents? Clearly for the most part they were trying to go along with what would become the official narrative, but luckily there are a few slip ups along the way that show us the official conclusion is false.
