In the mid-1960s New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison began looking into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy (JFK). Why did he do this? Well, because the city he represented as the top law enforcement agent was key to the assassination saga. New Orleans was home to many key people in the JFK assassination including, but not limited to, David Ferrie; Guy Banister; Clay Shaw; Kerry Thornley; Perry Russo; William Walter; Gordon Novel and Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO). The initial event that piqued Garrison's interest was the fact that the FBI interviewed David Ferrie about his trip to Texas on the day of the assassination and then promptly cleared him of any involvement in the assassination.
Garrison wondered how they could do that so fast, and that is a great question. It would be a number of years before he would begin his full investigation and it is to this day the ONLY investigation into the JFK assassination.
One of the institutions Garrison focused on during his investigation was Permanent Industrial Expositions (Permindex). He was the first person to consider this group and he did so because his prime suspect, Clay Shaw, had ties to it. Garrison would come to the conclusion that Permindex was a front company for a number of different entities. One of these entities was the Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC -- (World Trade Center)) which Shaw had ties to in New Orleans.
When he studied the CMC he noticed that it had Major Louis Mortimer (L.M.) Bloomfield listed as a director of its board. Bloomfield was a Canadian by birth, but he had served with the Office Of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II which was the forerunner of the CIA. Garrison learned that the CMC was really a liquid asset house as money passed through it and then spread throughout the world. He quoted writer Paris Flammonde's description of it in his book "On The Trail Of The Assassins." (OTTOTA)

...[CMC is a] shell of superficiality...composed of channels through which money flowed back and forth, with no one knowing the sources or the destination of these liquid assets." (Paris Flammonde, "The Kennedy Conspiracy", 1969.)

This shows us that CMC, and Permindex, were part of a mass money exchange that also had ties to the intelligence world as in 1962 Italy and Switzerland kicked out both of them for "subversive intelligence activity." (OTTOTA, p. 88, hardcover edition.) Another CMC director was Ferenc Nagy. Nagy, according to the Canadian newspaper Le Devoir, had ties to the CIA and the Cuban community in Miami.
Quote on
"Nagy...maintains close ties with the C.I.A. which link him with the Miami Cuban colony." (Ibid., p. 89)

The interesting thing about Nagy is that he would move to Dallas, Texas. Nagy was a friend of Lyndon Johnson for over thirty years too. Le Devoir also mentioned Bloomfield. They said he had been involved in "espionage" in earlier years for the U.S. Government. It also mentioned that he was a major shareholder in CMC and Permindex. (Ibid.) Paesa Sera stated this about CMC.
Quote on
Among its possible involvements (supported by the presence in directive posts of men deeply committed to organizations of the extreme right)...is that the Center was creation of the C.I.A....set up as a cover for the transfer of C.I.A....funds in Italy for illegal political-espionage activities. It still remains to clear up the presence on the administrative Board of the Center of Clay Shaw and ex-Major (of the O.S.S.) Bloomfield. (Ibid. p. 89)

The CIA used the CMC and Permindex to move money around for "political-espionage activities" and that these organizations had ties to both Shaw and Bloomfield. The Paesa Sero went on to say that the CMC was "the point of contact for a number of persons who, in certain respects, have somewhat equivocal ties whose common denominator -- anti-communism-- is so strong that it would swallow up all those in the world who have fought for decent relations between East and West, including Kennedy[." (Ibid.) The Italian press also said that Permindex had financed the French Secret Army Organization (O.A.S.) opposition to French President Charles de Gaulle's plans to give Algeria its liberation. (Ibid.) The main reason for this opposition was the drug trade as Algeria was the main point of exportation of heroin from Southeast Asia to the West. This opposition lead to multiple attempts of assassination against de Gaulle. They all failed.
Bloomfield had also worked with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) over the years. According to the Torbitt Document ("Nomenclature Of An Assassination Cabal") Bloomfield was the manager of the complex matrix of government agents, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) employees, and Nazis. Researcher Jim Marrs wrote about Bloomfield in regards to "Kennedy And The Nazis."

According to Canadian newspaper accounts, Bloomfield was an ardent Zionist, an attorney, businessman, and philanthropist who had worked for the OSS during World War II and for the fledgling CIA. Torbitt [Document] stated Bloomfield was a longtime friend and confidant of J. Edgar Hoover and had been Hoover’s contract supervisor of Division Five since his days in the OSS before World War II. Torbitt said Bloomfield,
“was the coordinator of all activities, responsible only to Hoover and Johnson in carrying out the plans for John Kennedy’s assassination.”
In 1967, New Orleans DA Jim Garrison charged Clay Shaw, a former OSS officer and founder of the city’s International Trade Mart, with conspiracy to assassinate the president. According to several separate sources—including Garrison’s files and an investigation by the U.S. Labor Party—the International Trade Mart in New Orleans was a subsidiary of a shadowy entity known as the Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC) or World Trade Center, which was founded by Bloomfield in Montreal in the late 1950s, then moved to Rome in 1961.
The Trade Mart was connected with CMC through yet another shadowy firm named Permindex (PERManent INDustrial EXpositions), also in the business of international expositions. According to Torbitt, Bloomfield held half of the shares of Permindex and was in total command of its operation in Europe and Africa as well as the North and South American continents.
(In the 1962 edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Shaw gave biographical information stating that he was on the board of directors of Permindex. However, in the 1963–64 edition, the reference to Permindex was dropped.) In the late 1960s, both Permindex and its parent company, Centro Mondiale Commerciale, came under intense scrutiny by the Italian news media. It was discovered that Prince Gutierrez di Spadaforo was on the board of CMC. The prince was a wealthy aristocrat who had been undersecretary of agriculture under the dictator Benito Mussolini, and whose daughter-in-law was related to Nazi minister of finance Hjalmar Schacht; Carlo D’Amelio, an attorney for the former Italian royal family; and Ferenc Nagy, former premier of Hungary and a leading anticommunist.
The Italian media reported that [Ferenc] Nagy was president of Permindex, and the board chairman and major stockholder was Louis Mortimer Bloomfield, the powerful Montreal lawyer who represented the Bronfman family as well as serving U.S. intelligence services. Reportedly, Bloomfield established Permindex in 1958 as part of the creation of worldwide trade centers connected with CMC.
According to a special investigation by reporters David Goldman and Jeffrey Steinberg in their 1981 book Dope, Inc.- Britain’s Opium War Against the U.S., Bloomfield was recruited into the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) in 1938, during the war was given rank within the U.S. Army, and eventually became part of the OSS intelligence system, including the FBI’s Division Five, where he became quite close with J. Edgar Hoover. (Jim Marrs, "Kennedy And The Nazis", 2008)

According to the Torbitt Document, Bloomfield was the direct supervisor of all contractual agents for FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover's (JEH) Division Five (assassinations). Furthermore, Bloomfield's group was one of five that were setup to furnish personnel and supervisors to carry out the assigned duties. Bloomfield worked with Lt. General Joseph F. Carroll, a former assistant Director of the FBI, and the head of the DIA. Carroll worked closely with William Sullivan and JEH in directing activities of the munitions-makers' police agency, the Defense Industrial Security Command (DISC). The DIA was a new intelligence agency that was started under JFK.
Bloomfield was a 1001 Club member which is tied to the Club of Rome and the World Wildlife Fund. One joins this club by invite only and you pay an initial fee of $10,000.00. The Club keeps a 1,001 people from the upper crust at all times in it. It is an elite club so the fact that Bloomfield was in it suggests that he had great contacts.
Like most of the higher levels of the conspiracy there is no firm proof of Bloomfield's involvement in the assassination for sure but given the positions that he had held over the years it is certainly possible. His tie-in to Shaw via the CMC and Permindex is also very interesting. What do you think?
