The Warren Commission (WC) claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) alone assassinated President John F. Kennedy (JFK) on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. They based this conclusion on the findings of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover (JEH) who reached them within days of the assassination! You may be wondering how they could have possibly investigated all the possibilities that could have been involved in the removal of a head of state in such a short period of time, and you would be correct in doing so as it is clear that none of these normal possibilities were ever investigated.
The FBI, and then the WC, simply focused on one man, LHO, and one man alone. No honest investigation would ever do this as you are supposed to follow the evidence wherever it leads. This ridiculous cover story is in and of itself proof of a conspiracy and a cover-up by the United States Government. Why would the United States Government want to cover up what happened to their elected leader? I think you can figure that one out on your own.
One issue that gave the WC a number of problems were repeated sightings of someone who looked like LHO or who claimed to be him in the weeks leading up to the assassination. In the vast majority of these incidents it is clear that it could NOT have been the LHO killed in Dallas as he was accounted for elsewhere. Why would anyone want to impersonate a "loner" and do so in such a way as to make him seem like a dangerous person?
This post will look at yet another incident where a man claimed to be "Oswald" in the weeks before the assassination.
*********************************************************
This incident occurred at the Southland Hotel Garage about two weeks before the assassination of JFK. It involved Hubert Morrow, Day Manager, and a man who "strongly resembled Lee Harvey Oswald." (HSCA Administrative Folder, RIF #124-10370-10004, p. 352) Here are the details as stated by Murrow to the FBI.

Hubert Anderson Morrow...advised that a person who strongly resembled Lee Harvey Oswald came to the garage about two weeks before the assassination of President Kennedy in answer to a want ad for help to work there. He said the person gave his name as Lee Harvey Oswald, which Morrow wrote down but did not keep the piece of paper. Morrow said the person waited around about 45 minutes, but was not interviewed.
The Dallas FBI Office at that time was located about one block from this garage. (Ibid.)

This is pretty clear as Morrow said a man came in response to a want ad as he wished to apply for work there. He gave his name as "Lee Harvey Oswald" and he bore a "strong resemblance" to LHO. Morrow wrote the name down, but unfortunately did not keep the piece of paper. Needless to say, the FBI would cast doubt on this sighting and since Morrow did not keep the paper he wrote the name on that made it even easier for them to do this.
According to Morrow, the man gave the full name including the middle name of "Harvey" and this is what is really intriguing as many of the other sightings did not include the middle name. Why was this person impersonating LHO using the middle name? We shall see why in a bit.
Notice too how the garage was in very close proximity to the Dallas FBI office! Why would someone impersonating LHO choose that location given this fact? We will never know for sure, but it makes one wonder if the man was working with the FBI in this endeavor.
As was the case with anyone who said anything that did NOT match the preconceived conclusion of the FBI and the WC there would be a good investigation into this matter. It was not really meant to see if what Morrow stated was true, but rather it was to investigate him to see if he was mentally deranged or had some other issue. They also talked with a ton of people when someone claimed something that went counter to the WC's conclusion to try and show that person was wrong, but when the WC's "star witnesses" claimed something, the FBI talked with NO one to make sure it was correct. This is what the American taxpayer was charged $1,000,000.00 for.
The first person was Garret Claud Hallmark who worked for Allright Parking Systems which the garage at the Southland Hotel was part of. On January 27, 1964, he told the FBI that there was "no record of Oswald ever applying for a job." This statement was not clarified to let us know if the applications that were submitted at the hotel's parking garage went to Allright Parking Systems or not. IF they didn't, then of course Hallmark would never see it, but as usual, the FBI left this vital tidbit out of the report.
Hallmark would also state this in the above report.
Quote on
...He said Morrow had claimed that a person believed to be Oswald had been to the garage about a week before the assassination. Hallmark said he believed Morrow had fabricated the story. (Ibid.)

Why would Morrow fabricate this story? What benefit would he get out of claiming a man who strongly resembled LHO came to his garage about a week or so before the assassination? I can't think of one thing. On the other hand, this could cost him his job as it brought a lot of attention to the company and had the FBI there a good bit. Furthermore, Morrow received some corroboration from another employee in the report on this issue.

Emmett Fulton Montgomery, an employee of the garage advised on January 25, 1964, that he believed he remembered the person mentioned by Morrow as being at the garage, but he could not be sure the person was Oswald. (Ibid., pp. 352-353)

This is the beauty of using doubles as the impression is different for each person. We have to assume, since the FBI report never states it, that Morrow would have had a better view of the man than Montgomery since he spoke with him and Montogomery didn't. It does show that a man came at the time Morrow said he did.
FBI Special Agent Robert Gemberling would write a report that was released on February 11, 1964, and this issue was included. We get more detail from Morrow about this incident in this report.

MORROW advised that shortly after LEE HARVEY OSWALD was allegedly killed by JACK RUBY, he observed a photograph of OSWALD in the paper and on television and recalled that a person who strongly resembled OSWALD, and whom he believed to be identical, came to the Southland Hotel Garage early one morning about two weeks before the assassination of President KENNEDY on November 22, 1963, in answer to an ad for help to work at the garage. He said he wrote the name of this man down on a pad of paper and put it down, "LEE HARVEY OSBURN", and the individual said, "No, my name is OSWALD." He said he did not keep the paper and it had been thrown away with the trash. (Commission Document (CD) 385, p. 144)

This is pretty much the same that we saw in the other report except for one very important point. Morrow said he wrote the name as "Lee Harvey Osburn", but the man corrected him and said it was "Oswald" so this would leave an impression on Morrow more in my opinion. I would guess the name "Oswald" was not heard very often in Dallas and that is why Morrow thought it was "Osburn" instead. The man made a point of correcting him when it really didn't matter as telling Morrow your name didn't equal applying for work. The man just wanted to get the name of "Oswald" across for a reason. The reason starts to become apparent in the next paragraph of this report.

He said that he recalled this man asked him how tall the building was and if it had a good view of Dallas and he recalled that this man had a "Dallas Morning News" newspaper under his arm, was dressed in a football-type sweatshirt and blue jeans. (Ibid.)

The question about the building's height was an obvious one since it alluded to a sniper's perch. It was something that would stick with most people and of course that was the purpose of asking it. I am not sure what is meant by a "football-type sweatshirt", but this doesn't sound like something LHO was known to wear. All of that is moot however since the real LHO was at work at the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD) at this time anyway.
In this Gemberling report Morrow mentions a second driver that may have seen the man beyond Montgomery, but the copy of the report is so poor his last name is difficult to make out. It looks like Charles Dabbs, but it says that he was no longer employed by the garage in January 1964. This is another pattern seen in this case as many times when they were investigating the comments of someone who disagreed with the official conclusion a person who could possibly support the person was gone from the scene and the FBI tended not to find them. If they were running an honest investigation then this should not have happened.
Morrow would say that he knew Jack Ruby as "a customer at the Nichols Brothers Parking Garage", but he had never been to the Carousel Club or the Vegas Club. He further said he knew of no relationship between Ruby and Oswald. (Ibid., p. 145)
A little later we see this report within the Gemberling Report.

So, it appears this man may have applied for work at this hotel garage after all. What was Hallmark talking about then when he said he found no application? Simpson was listed as a "confidential source" so we should believe what he said. Hallmark on the other hand seemed eager to shoot down Morrow's story. Why? Which source do you think the FBI would believe? You got it -- Hallmark. He was available in this report but his cashier, Mrs. Viola Sapp, told the FBI that she "knew for a fact that the SUBJECT did not ever talk with Mr. Hallmark and that SUBJECT never made a written application for employment." (Ibid., p. 150) Needless to say, Mrs. Sapp would be believed with no additional investigation needed like Morrow. Funny how they quickly believed anyone who supported what the official theory wanted while fully investigating anyone who didn't support it.
Despite the doubts of the FBI and Hallmark, this seems like another attempt to frame LHO as the Southland Hotel Garage happened to have seven floors just like the TSBD. This incident occurred so close to the assassination that it can't be just a coincidence in my opinion.
Once again, we see an event that did not comport with the official narrative, so the FBI set out to disprove it rather than see if it was true or not. This happened too many times for the conclusion of the WC to be correct, thus, it is sunk again.
