This was written by Gil Jesus in 2007 and is in regards to the three shells allegedly found in the Texas School Book Depository after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Only one of the shells matched Oswald's rifle. Not my words, the FBI's. When you LNers make vague statements like you do, you only prove my point that not only do you not understand what constitutes evidence, even when presented with the evidence, you still don't get it. So here it is again with the references:
CLOSER EXAMINATION OF THE SHELLS
Two of the three shells allegedly found on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository had nothing to do with the assassination and were either planted at the scene of the crime by the perpertrator(s) or later by the authorities to frame Oswald post-mortem and to satisfy the public that Oswald was the sole assassin and thus head off a Congressional nvestigation.
The two shells found on the sixth floor that day, CE 543 and CE 545, were either planted by the shooter or the police, or fired from a weapon which was not Oswald's. Neither were fired from Oswald's rifle.
Both had been loaded into a rifle which was not Oswald's at least twice. (WC Report 18, 555-556) The proof being that neither had the markings of the bolt of Oswald's rifle. Without the marking of the Oswald rifle's bolt, it was impossible for those shells to have been ejected on November 22, 1963 in a firing sequence from Oswald's rifle.
THE DENTED SHELL - CE 543
One of the shells, later designated by the Warren Commission as CE 543 (FBI number C6), had a dent in the lip so profound that it could not have held a bullet. When the Dallas Police sent the original two shells to the FBI for examination, they withheld CE 543, retaining possession of it until November 28th, five days after they had turned over CE 544 and CE 545 to the FBI. (WC Hearings, XXVI, 449-450)
CE 543 also lacks the characteristic indentation on the side made by the firing chamber of Oswald's rifle. This shell did have the markings of the magazine follower of Oswald's rifle, but the magazine follower only marked the last cartridge in the clip, which, on November 22nd, was not CE 543 but a live unfired round. CE 543 was not ejected using the bolt of the weapon, for it did not have the characteristic marking made by the bolt.
In addition, CE 543 had a deeper and more concave dent on its primer, where the firing pin strikes. Only empty cartridge cases exhibit such characteristics. Amazingly, the FBI reproduced the dent in the lip and deep primer impression during testing by loading an empty shell into the Oswald rifle and pulling the trigger. CE 557 is that reproduction shell.
According to Hoover, this shell was loaded into a rifle other than Oswald's three times. (Hoover memo to Rankin, June 2, 1964, WC Records, National Archives; FBI Ballistics Report 25 Dec. 1964; WC Hearings XXVI, 449)
The evidence proves conclusively that CE 543 was not fired from Oswald's rifle in Dealey Plaza.
CE 544
CE 544 bore the markings of the firing chamber and of the bolt of Oswald's rifle and its primer held an impression similar to the one made by the firing pin of Oswald's rifle. To this writer, it is very strong evidence that CE 544 contained a bullet that was fired from Oswald's rifle at some point in time. It is not proof, however, that the bullet which this shell contained was fired in Dealey Plaza or on November 22, 1963.
CE 545
The last shell, CE 545 had an impression of a firing pin and had been marked by the firing chamber of Oswald's rifle. However, it did not have the markings made by the bolt of the Oswald rifle, meaning that it had never been ejected from the Oswald rifle. It did have the markings of the magazine follower as did CE 543. Since it did not have the dented lip that CE 543 had, it was not loaded into the Oswald rifle without a bullet in it.
Therefore, it would be safe to assume that this shell was fired from the Oswald rifle, but not on November 22nd. There simply was no time for the shooter, Oswald or anyone else, to remove the shell from the firing chamber using anything other than the bolt. Therefore, like CE 544, there is no proof that the bullet that this shell contained was fired on November 22, 1963.
CONCLUSION
Both CE 543 and CE 545 were at some point in the Oswald clip as the last cartridge. Both had the markings of the magazine follower. Neither was ejected with the bolt, and thus, could not have been fired at JFK.
CE 543 was never fired from Oswald's rifle at any time.
CE 545 could have been fired by Oswald's rifle, but only if it were the last cartridge in the clip and removed by some means other than the bolt. This simply did not happen on November 22nd. The last cartridge in the clip was an unfired round.
The third shell, CE 544 had all the characteristics of having been fired by Oswald's rifle at some point in time, but given the circumstances surrounding the other two pieces of "evidence", the validity of this shell is in question also.
The strength of evidence in a murder case depends on the credibility of the people handling it. Where there is a weak "chain of possession" of evidence, there is usually tampering with that evidence.
