The Warren Commission (WC) claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) assassinated President John F. Kennedy (JFK) on November 22, 1963. The protection of the president was the duty of the Secret Service (SS), and as we have seen previously in this series they failed miserably in their duty.
The purpose of this post is to look at Commission Exhibit (CE) 1024 which is a series of statements made by the SS personnel who were assigned to the protection detail of JFK on November 22.
*****************************************
SS Agent William Greer was the driver of the presidential limousine on November 22, 1963, and his recollections were the first presented by CE 1024. Early on he makes a statement that calls into question the entire WC theory.

When we reached the [word illegible] business section of Dallas the crowds were very large and the motorcycle Police along [the] side [of] the President’s automobile had a hard time keeping the people back. (CE 1024, p. 723)

Why does this passage call into question the WC's theory? Because he states that in the business section of Dallas the crowds were very large and this caused the motorcade to slow down and the motorcycle police on the sides of the presidential limousine were having a hard time keeping the people back from the limousine. While he doesn't state it there is a realistic possibility that some actually reached the limousine especially because the number of motorcycle police had been reduced from what was originally planned.
The fact that JFK could have been accessed so easily makes the theory of LHO planning a killing using a rifle from a tall building ridiculous. When a true lone assassin is the cause of either an attempted or actual assassination they make sure that they get as close as possible to their intended target. LHO would have had several chances of doing this (at Love Field and along points in the motorcade), but instead we are told that he wanted to use an old rifle with old ammunition when no one in American history had ever attempted to do this.
Does this make any sense? Of course not. Especially when you add in the factors of getting the rifle from the Paine residence to the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD) Building, and then into the building to a hiding place with no one noticing that you were bringing a rifle into your workplace.
Here is curious comment by Greer in his statement.

After the second shot, I glanced over my right shoulder…I knew then that something was wrong and I immediately pushed the accelerator to the floor… (Ibid.)

Why did he only know something was wrong AFTER seeing Governor John B. Connally (JBC) react? Why didn't the sound of the shot cause him any concern? Why didn't he react by speeding the limousine up then?
Why did he say that he did when he clearly didn't according to the WC? According to the WC, and Zapruder film, the limousine did NOT speed up until AFTER the head shot which has never been said to be the second shot. Why did Greer lie here? If he had sped up after the second shot there is a good chance that JFK would have survived.
Of course the WC recognized this and did their best to clean this up.
Mr. SPECTER. Do you recollect whether you accelerated before or at the same time or after the third shot?
Mr. GREER. I couldn't really say. Just as soon as I turned my head back from the second shot, right away I accelerated right then. It was a matter of my reflexes to the accelerator.
In this part of his testimony he confirms that he sped up after the second shot, thus, WC lawyer Arlen Specter tried again.
Mr. SPECTER. Was it at about that time that you heard the third shot?
Mr. GREER. Yes, sir; just as soon as I turned my head.
Amazing. His written statement completed shortly after November 22 doesn't say this. Neither did he say this initially in his WC testimony. As I said earlier, he shouldn't have needed to see JBC reacting to a shot to start to accelerate as that is what they are trained to do when they hear gunfire.
This matter needed to be explored more, but that never occurred. Roy Kellerman's statement is next. This statement has been denied by WC supporters for years.

Immediately I heard what I believe was the President’s voice, “My God, I'm hit!”… (CE 1024, p. 724)

The WC supporters have said that the first shot to hit JFK impacted his throat so SS Agent Kellerman could not have heard JFK utter anything. But what if the first shot didn't impact his throat?
What if it hit him in the back and caused the very shallow wound there? Evidence for this possibility are the numerous witnesses who said that the first shot sounded like a firecracker, including Kellerman, and this would indicate a faulty load or sabot was fired and led to the shallow wound in the back. This type of wound would allow JFK to utter what Kellerman said that he heard.
Keep in mind that the Single Bullet Theory (SBT) is nothing but an unsupported claim so the WC supporters cannot show that a bullet went in JFK's back and out his throat.
This comment by Kellerman also deserves some explanation.

I accompanied the President to the emergency room. His eyes were closed but I could see no visible damage to his face. (CE 1024, p. 725)

If a shot had come from the sixth floor southeastern window of the TSBD as claimed, how could JFK’s face be intact? Wouldn't a shot from behind, even one coming in a downward fashion, impact the face in some way?
Think about the official claim. They said JFK was shot from behind and ABOVE, but somehow the bullet went UPWARD when exiting the head. How does a bullet traveling DOWNWARD supposedly exit upward?
The lack of damage to the jaw or face shows that a shot most likely hit JFK in the head from the front.
Kellerman also admits that he gave permission to load the presidential limousine onto a plane for its return to Washington, D.C. (CE 1024, p. 726) As we have seen previously in this series this violated the law as the city of Dallas and the state of Texas had jurisdiction for the crime. The limousine was part of the murder scene and should have stayed in Dallas as evidence.
The urgency with which the limousine and body (something not mentioned in his comments) were taken from Dallas has always seemed suspicious. Especially when the performance of the SS on November 22 is considered as well.
The failure of the WC to question, let alone investigate, any of this is indicative of a cover-up. The WC repeatedly ignored anything that did not point to LHO committing the crimes that he was accused of alone, thus, their conclusion cannot be correct and therefore is sunk.
