The Warren Commission (WC) claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) assassinated President John F. Kennedy (JFK) on November 22, 1963. The protection of the president was the duty of the Secret Service (SS), and as we have seen previously in this series they failed miserably in their duty.
The purpose of this post is to look at Commission Exhibit (CE) 1024 which is a series of statements made by the SS personnel who were assigned to the protection detail of JFK on November 22.

SS Agent Paul Landis makes an interesting comment in his report.

When we reached the end of Main Street we turned right and approached a gradual left turn. As we approached the intersection and while we were turning left, the crowd seemed to thin and almost disappear around the turn. I then made a quick surveillance of a building which was to be on the President's right once the left turn was completed. It appeared to be the last one in sight. It was a modernistic type building, approximately eight stories high, and it had large glass windows. I also seem to recollect orange paneling or siding. None of the windows were open, and I did not see anyone standing by them. I surmised that the building was closed or that all its employees were out on the street corner. (WCR, p. 754)

How could he say that NONE of the windows were open in the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD) Building when numerous witnesses said that some were? At the very least the southeastern sixth floor window was open unless we want to believe that LHO either shot through the window or raised it at the very last second. Neither is very probable.
The WC's own attorney admitted that windows were open on fifth floor during his questioning of Howard Brennan.
Mr. BELIN. I am going to ask you to circle on Exhibit 477 the particular window that you said you saw a man leave and come back a couple of times.
Mr. BRENNAN. Well, I am confused here, the way this shows. But I believe this is the sixth floor, the way those windows are built there right at the present. I am confused whether this is the same window.
Mr. BELIN. You mean because some windows are open below it?
Mr. BRENNAN. No. The way the building is built, it seems like this is more or less a long window with a divider in the middle.
The WC even published photographs of open windows in the TSBD building in their twenty-six volumes. So why did Landis see NO open windows?
Landis also said that he did not see anyone standing by the windows too, but this is also disputed by Brennan and other witnesses.
Mr. BRENNAN. Well, I was more or less observing the crowd and the people in different building windows, including the fire escape across from the Texas Book Store on the east side of the Texas Book Store, and also the Texas Book Store Building windows. I observed quite a few people in different windows. In particular, I saw this one man on the sixth floor which left the window to my knowledge a couple of times.
So again, why didn't Landis see any of this? Was he looking at the wrong building? With attention to detail like this one has to wonder exactly what kind of security JFK was receiving.
There is another possibility. What if Landis was just saying this to avoid acknowledging that he observed all this and nothing was done about it?
The other relevant comment by Agent Landis in his report was pertaining to where he thought the shot he heard had originated from.

It was at this moment that I heard a second report and it appeared that the President's head split open with a muffled exploding sound...I saw pieces of flesh and blood flying through the air and the President slumped out of sight towards Mrs. Kennedy.
My immediate thought was that the President could not possibly be alive after being hit like he was. I still was not certain from which direction the second shot came, but my reaction at this time was that the shot came from somewhere towards the front, right-hand side of the road. (WCR, p. 755)

This is not what the WC claimed. His reaction at the time was that the fatal head shot came from the right FRONT.
Next we take a look SS Agent George Hickey's report. He writes something that again sinks the WC's claim all by itself.

A disturbance in 679X caused me to look forward toward the President's car. Perhaps 2 or 3 seconds elapsed from the time I looked to the rear and then looked at the President. He was slumped forward and to his left, and was straightening up to an almost erect sitting position as I turned and looked.
At the moment he was almost sitting erect I heard two reports which I thought were shots and that appeared to me completely different in sound than the first report and were in such rapid succession that there seemed to be practically no time element between them. (WCR, p. 762)

How could LHO alone, using an antiquated rifle with a hard to recycle bolt, fire two shots so fast that they sounded as if they were fired “with no time element between them?” It is obviously impossible. Based on this statement there had to be more than one shooter.
SS Agent David Grant makes an interesting comment in his report.

After the departure of Air Force I, SA Lawson, Chief of Police Curry, and I headed to Dallas Police Headquarters. There had been a radio report that an individual had just been apprehended for the murder of a Dallas police officer. The thought was that the assassination of the President and the murder of a Dallas Police officer could be related. (WCR , p. 788)

Who's thought was this? Where did they get it from? These two crimes were a good bit different in terms of distance and how they were carried out, therefore, there really was no reason to assume that the they were committed by the same person that quickly. This is just another example of how LHO was the preselected patsy.
While not a SS agent Texas Highway Patrolman Hurchel Jacks made an interesting comment in his statement.

Before the President's body was covered it appeared that the bullet had struck him above the right ear or near the temple. (WCR, p. 801)

Once again we see another person who had viewed JFK’s body describing a wound to the head that differed with what the WC claimed. It just again proves that the fatal head shot couldn't have come from behind as claimed.
The failure of the WC to question, let alone investigate, any of this is indicative of a cover-up. The WC repeatedly ignored anything that did not point to LHO committing the crimes that he was accused of alone, thus, their conclusion cannot be correct and therefore is sunk.
