Dr. Louis "Jolly" West is a very interesting fringe character in the events of President John F. Kennedy's (JFK) assassination and the subsequent killing of his accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO). He is also not discussed hardly at all in the JFK assassination research community. This post will present more information on him for interested researchers.
In 1955 Dr. Louis West, friends with Aldous Huxley, was told by Huxley that West should combine LSD and hypnosis in his experiments (Lee, Martin, and Schlain, Bruce, Acid Dreams, Grove Press, 1985, pp. 48). West was an Air Force Major, chairman of the Psychiatry Department of UCLA, director of the Neuro-Psychiatric Institute, and an expert in hypnosis. Huxley strangely died on November 22, 1963, in Los Angeles. He supposedly "asked for and received an injection of LSD on his deathbed..."
West was a veteran of the CIA's MK-ULTRA mind-control program and worked on interrogation techniques using hypnosis and LSD. West once killed an elephant by grossly overestimating a dose of LSD (elsewhere, I have heard that the tranquilizers required to calm the animal caused its death). West also studied the returning American POWs from Korea for the effects of brainwashing (Scheflin, Alan and Opton, Edward Jr., The Mind Manipulators, Paddington Press Ltd, 1978, pp. 149-50). He was also an expert in brainwashing for the Air Force and the CIA, West first achieved fame from his MK-Ultra feat -- he injected LSD-25 into an elephant and killed it. West researched "the psychology of dissociated states" for the CIA, using LSD and hypnosis. Huxley also suggested during an MK-Ultra experiment that West hypnotize his subjects prior to administering LSD, in order to give them "post-hypnotic suggestions aimed at orienting the drug-induced experience in some desired direction."
Dr. West's specialties included interrogation using deprivation techniques, hypnosis and psychoactive drugs, behavior modification through electrical stimulation of the brain, and electronic devices to track and control his victims.
In the mid-70s, Dr. Louis Jolyon West, director of the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA, suggested a centralized "violence reduction center" to be created at an abandoned missile base in California, a concept that was greeted with approval by then-Governor Ronald Reagan.
West reported in a secret memo that one purpose of the center would be the implementation of brain surgery techniques:
"...now by implanting tiny electrodes deep within the brain... [it] is even possible to record bioelectrical changes in the brain of freely moving subjects, through the use of remote monitoring techniques."
Authors W.H. Bowart and Richard Sutton discuss West in their 1990 book entitled "The Invisible...Third World War."

From the early work in CIA's cruder mind control forms, top ranking members of the AMA and APA, key figures of American psychiatry and medicine, have used massive public funds to create a national mind control network. Their own documents prove their ultimate goal - to robotize America (74). Far- fetched? In this chapter these august figures go on record for a Zombie America.
Perhaps the greatest champion of Zombie America is one of the most respected figures in American Psychiatry today - Dr. Louis Jolyon "Jolly" West. Beginning with brainwashing work for the Air Force, (75) MKULTRA work with CIA (76), West has positioned himself smack in the midst of the Invisible War. West's career appears to be a carefully constructed espionage "cover".
Always on the forefront of IW technology, West proposed converting a NIKE missile base in the Santa Monica Mountains into an IW compound (77) and received powerful support from then-Governor Ronald Reagan.
West's proposals included chemical castration, implantation of transponders in sexual organs and the brain, biological control of women's menstrual cycles to control crime, and eventual replacement of the U.S. legal system with psychiatric control. "Jolly" West continues his clandestine mind control activities from his august Chair of Psychiatry and Directorship of the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA.
A mutual friend of both West and Delgado is Dr. Frank Ervin.
Michael Crichton's novel and film, THE TERMINAL MAN, was based upon an Ervin victim who complains to this day that his brain is being controlled by microwaves. (78) Remarkably, the CIA funded UCLA work to develop microwave broadcasting equipment which could carry human voices into a victim's head for the purpose of inducing hypnosis at a distance (79). Yet another center tied to UCLA tried to develop a microwave "amnesia" beam, for the CIA as early as the 1950's (80).
Proponents of IV! Psychiatric techniques have somehow managed to take their places beside American presidents for the past twelve years. Nixon and Ford were advised by Dr. Arnold Hutschnecker, a 1926 graduate of the Nazi-supported Kaiser Wilhelm Institute, where much of the early medical-psychiatric IW techniques were pioneered. Carter's confidante, psychiatrist'. Dr. Peter Bourne, has devoted much of his career to psychological warfare and IW technology, and even prescribed hypnotic drugs to White House staffers.
Indeed, financial consultant and investigative journalist Dr. Harry Schultz has speculated that Bourne's control of Carter may have resulted in some most unusual-policy decisions. [Ronald Reagan, who has supported West's most bizarre schemes for years, could well appoint him to a White House post].
Unless the association of IW psychiatrists with U.S. presidents is halted soon, we could see Zombie America come early. ("The Invisible...Third World War", W.H. Bowart and Richard Sutton, 1990)

Dr. West was called upon by the government to examine Jack Ruby, who had killed LHO before he could stand trial for his alleged role in the assassination of JFK. Huxley was also interested in parapsychology and lectured on the topic at Duke University. It was at Duke where Huxley had contact with J.B. Rhine, who reportedly did experiments in psychic phenomena for the CIA and the Army. Longtime CIA doctor Louis J. West once treated Aldous Huxley. It was West's diagnosis that Ruby was a "candidate suitable for treatment" that allowed him to be put on drugs.
In 1990 according to an anonymous BBC television reporter, Dr Louis West headed up the medical oversight for the Ft. Meade remote-viewing operational unit. (Constantine, Alex, "'Remote Viewing' at Stanford Research Institute or Illicit CIA Mind Control Experimentation?") West was also a "Member of the medical oversight board for Science Applications International Corp. remote-viewing research in early 1990s.
In 1974 Dr. West said the following while citing Huxley.

The role of drugs in the exercise of political control is also coming under increasing discussion. Control can be through prohibition or supply. The total or even partial prohibition of drugs gives the government considerable leverage for other types of control. An example would be the selective application of drug laws permitting immediate search, or "no knock" entry, against selected components of the population such as members of certain minority groups or political organizations.
But a government could also supply drugs to help control a population. This method, foreseen by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World (1932), has the governing element employing drugs selectively to manipulate the governed in various ways. To a large extent the numerous rural and urban communes, which provide a great freedom for private drug use and where hallucinogens are widely used today, are actually subsidized by our society. Their perpetuation is aided by parental or other family remittances, welfare, and unemployment payments, and benign neglect by the police.
In fact, it may be more convenient and perhaps even more economical to keep the growing numbers of chronic drug users (especially of the hallucinogens) fairly isolated and also out of the labor market, with its millions of unemployed. To society, the communards with their hallucinogenic drugs are probably less bothersome - and less expensive - if they are living apart, than if they are engaging in alternative modes of expressing their alienation, such as active, organized, vigorous political protest and dissent.
The hallucinogens presently comprise a moderate but significant portion of the total drug problem in Western society. The foregoing may provide a certain frame of reference against which not only the social but also the clinical problems created by these drugs can be considered. The background of Dr. West is diverse and includes the following:
-- He was an Air Force Major. Many affiliated with or in the CIA use the military as a cover occupation.
-- He was Chairman of the Psychiatry Department of UCLA.
-- He was the Director of the Neuro-Psychiatric Institute.
-- He was an expert in hypnosis.
He was to be the administrator of California Governor Ronald Reagan's proposed Violence Center at UCLA. The threat of psychosurgery, along with West's desire to acquire a closed Nike Missile base, derailed the plan. (Scheflin and Opton, pp. 318-20.)
He examined Jack Ruby in prison after his assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald, concluded that he suffered from paranoid delusions, and prescribed medication. Why was CIA programmer Dr. Louis Jolyon "Jolly" West allowed to examine Jack Ruby in his jail cell? When Ruby refused to admit to insanity, West labelled him "paranoid and mentally ill" and Ruby was placed on pills, which were called "happy pills". Ruby believed he was being poisoned by the establishment. I find it odd that a CIA mind control veteran — who did not reside or practice in Dallas — should have been assigned to the Ruby case. What do you think? Why was he sent to see Ruby? Could Ruby have been under hypnotic mind control? That would certainly answer the question.
Researcher Texe Marrs wrote the following about Dr. West.
Quote on
Dr. Rod Lewis, publisher of C.E. Chronicles (10878 Westheimer 293, Houston, Texas, 77042) and head of a scientific study network in Houston, Texas, apparently mindful of this distinct possibility, noted:
"There are no reports that McVeigh had any type of mental illness, disorder, or displayed any clinical symptoms of paranoid or delusional thinking."
Lewis further raises eyebrows when he writes:
What makes this case even more interesting is that D. Louis J. West, M.D., Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA, was interviewed on CNN the day after the bombing as an expert on "terrorist behavior."
Dr. West was the examining psychiatrist of Jack Ruby, assassin of Lee Harvey Oswald. He is also well known for his work in mind control in the 1960s and was a proponent of the use of biochip implantation to control violence.
It has been rumored that much of Dr. West's research was funded by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). It is now known that Dr. West will be the consulting psychiatrist for the case and that all of Mr. McVeigh's military and medical records have been closed.
Dr. West's name has been mentioned in a number of books about mind control including; Jim Keith's - A Casebook on Alternative 3; Walter Bowart's - Operation Mind Control; and Martin Cannon's white paper - "The Controllers"
Is it just coincidence that of all the psychiatrists in the United States, Dr. West would be selected to oversee the psychiatric evaluation of Mr. McVeigh? It seems that in the eyes of the government there was good reason - something that they did not want others to see perhaps? (Texe Marrs, "Project L.U.C.I.D.", excerpt.)

There has been thought by a few researchers in the JFK assassination community that LHO was a possible target of hypnosis (including me -- please see here: jfkconspiracyforum.freeforums.net/thread/236/david-ferrie-hypnotist), but no one from what I have seen has thought the same thing about Jack Ruby. Was he a victim of hypnosis mind control? According to Lincoln Lawrence, Oswald was not the only possible manipulated cog in the wheel. Ruby was another. He could have been "placed under hypnosis...perhaps at a party or perhaps by some 'performer' who was pretending to offer a casual audition for the Carousel Club." The entertainer at Ruby's club the week of the assassination was, in fact, a hypnotist, William Crowe, whose stage name was Bill DeMar. I have covered DeMar somewhat in my "Statements That Sink The WC's Conclusions" series. Here is a snippet about him from that series.

[General Edwin] Walker will say both LHO and Ruby had ties to Billy DeMar (an entertainer at Ruby’s Carousel Club) and I have covered him before in this series.

Probably some of the most convincing stories come from the employees of the Carousel Club. William D. Crowe, Jr. was a magician and entertainer who used the stage name of Bill DeMar. He was performing at the club at the time of the assassination. He would call a news media friend soon after LHO was arrested as he claimed that LHO had participated in his act just the previous week.
Researchers in the area of mind-control say that carousels are an important part of programming. It makes sense since a carousel goes round and round. It sounds like a perfect device to hypnotize someone with. Researcher Fritz Springmeier wrote about this topic in regard to his research about Walt Disney.
Quote on
When a child of 3 or 4 was kidnapped, they could torture the child and then put him on a ride such as a Ferris wheel or carousel that created dissociation from the pain, while also going along with some fairy tale programming script. An abducted child while waiting to be picked up from one non-parent caretaker by another, could be kept happy and distracted while waiting for the pickup. For years, Disneyland was an center for many of their world-wide activities.
Walt had wanted a son, but his wife wanted to adopt a girl, so it was a beautiful girl that Lillian picked out to be a companion for her first daughter. When Sharon was kindergarten age, Walt would take her to the carousels in Griffith Park on Sunday afternoons. Sharon was sent to private schools.
Disneyworld has the Island of Atlantis on its sub tour. Fantasyland is one of the most used tours of Disneyland for mind-control purposes. It has carousels, merry music, an incredible castle, boat rides, story book characters etc. Sleeping Beauty Castle with its blue turrets and gold spires is the central visual object of Disneyland.
You cross a drawbridge to get into it. Inside Fantasyland are programming sites such as the Mad Hatter teacups, the King Arthur carousel horses, and Snow White’s Forest. (Fritz Springmeier, "One of the Greatest Deceptions of All Time... Disney, 2003)

Was this the significance of the name "Carousel" for Jack Ruby's club? On November 25 he told the Associated Press that he was “positive” that LHO had patronized Ruby’s club. He would say the following about this incident.

I have a memory act in which I have 20 customers call out various objects in rapid order. Then I tell them at random what they called out. I am positive Oswald was one of the men that called out an object about nine days ago.

Crowe, a.k.a. DeMar, was known as a master hypnotist too, and of course some researchers have suggested that LHO was under some control in this area. A memo from CIA Director John McCone, dated March 3, 1964, to SS Chief James Rowley can be found in the National Archives. It states following his surgery at the Minsk hospital, Oswald might have been,
Quote on
"chemically or electronically 'controlled'... a sleeper agent. Subject spent 11 days hospitalized for a 'minor ailment' which should have required no more than three days hospitalization at best"...

Some research that I have read says that Jack Ruby too was put under hypnosis from time to time by some “performer” who was pretending to offer a casual audition for the Carousel Club. We will never know for sure the extent of this, but we now know that mind control is very real and something the CIA worked on for many years (Operations MK-Ultra, Artichoke, etc…).
This is tantalizing stuff as it could show William Crowe, a.k.a. Bill DeMar, was possibly controlling both LHO and Ruby through hypnosis or some other mind-controlling fashion. Another master hypnotist was David Ferrie so was he passed the "control" when LHO went to New Orleans in the late spring/summer of 1963?
The idea that both LHO and Ruby could have been controlled is next level. It would change everything about the assassination in terms of what we thought we knew already. I personally am not sold on LHO being under on November 22, 1963, because he was seen near a telephone shortly before the assassination, but no one was produced that said he was ON the telephone. Calling people who are mind-controlled and using a phrase, song, color, etc. is a common method of activating someone under your influence. I personally don't think LHO was activated that day, but he could have been mind-controlled by someone or some group.
As for Jack Ruby it seems that he might have been that weekend as he showed a pattern of stalking all weekend before he shot LHO. It was as if he was hunting his prey. He also acted quite odd after the shooting as he was sweating and kept talking constantly. He also kept asking for cigarettes and Ruby wasn't known to smoke. Only after he heard that LHO had died did he return to normal. If Ruby wasn't mind- controlled, why was Dr. West sent to see him? Why would a person with a background in "interrogation using deprivation techniques, hypnosis and psychoactive drugs, behavior modification through electrical stimulation of the brain, and electronic devices to track and control his victims..." be sent to see Ruby? If he was mind-controlled it would make sense, but if he wasn't it makes no sense.
