Rambler Seen In Dealey Plaza:

The Warren Commission (WC) proclaimed Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) guilty of assassinating President John F. Kennedy (JFK), but when you examine all the things they did NOT "investigate" it is impossible to support their conclusion.
This post will look at something else that is very interesting but was NEVER really investigated no matter what the Dallas Police Department (DPD) claimed.
********************************************************
Exactly a week before the assassination, November 16, 1963, there was an incident in Dealey Plaza (DP) that should have caused immediate action by the DPD, but that never happened, and we need to know why. This incident came to our attention within the very long report by FBI Special Agent Robert Gemberling (Commission Document (CD) 7) and leaves one wondering how many things they did NOT bother to find out the truth about.
We only have two short reports to go on for this incident, and here is the first one.

Deputy United States Marshal HENRY WHITE telephonically advised that Mrs. JOE BAILY BLACKWELL...informed that at night, approximately one week before the assassination of President KENNEDY, her sister and husband were driving in almost the exact spot where the President was shot, when a bullet entered the rear window of their automobile and lodged in the car. According to Mrs. BLACKWELL, this matter was reported to the Dallas Police Department. (CD 7, p. 277)

This is amazing as it would show someone, or some group, were firing in DP a week before the assassination. We already know that the police were called about two men doing target practice on November 20, 1963, in the area of what would become the "Grassy Knoll" after the assassination, so this means there was something going on in DP beyond normal stuff. Remember too that the automobile was in "almost the exact spot" where JFK's presidential limousine would be a week later when he was shot. This can't be a coincidence.
The above report mentions that a bullet went through the car's window and lodged in the car, but of course this was NOT what the DPD would claim. Here is the other report on this incident.

Captain O.A. JONES, Forgery Bureau, Dallas Police Department, advised that he had supervised the investigation regarding a rumor that reportedly originated from Mrs. JOE BAILY BLACKWELL...to the effect that during the nighttime, approximately one week prior to the assassination of President KENNEDY, her sister and husband were driving in almost the exact spot where the President was shot, when a bullet entered the rear window of their automobile and lodged in the car.
Captain JONES advised the results of the Dallas Police Department investigation conclusively established that this rumor was false. (CD 7, p. 278; Better copy FBI 102-82555, Oswald HQ File, Section 17, p. 87)

There is more, but I want to review this part first. My first question is, why was a man in charge of the FORGERY Bureau investigating a crime like this? What part of a bullet hitting a car involved forgery? Did the forgery department handle the shooting at retired General Edwin A. Walker (EAW) house on April 10, 1963, too? I am just curious as I don't know how their police department was set up, but it seems odd that someone in this section would handle this type of issue. My second question would be, why was Jones so fast to call this a rumor? It was reported to the police and even involved the U.S. Marshals to some extent, so why was this deemed to be just a "rumor" so fast?
Next, notice how he mentions an investigation. My question is, where is the work of this investigation? All the authorities provided us with were two reports and NOTHING from an investigation. What happened to all the reports from that claimed investigation? I would love to see them in order to determine how much effort was put into this incident since they of course claimed that their "investigation" CONCLUSIVELY established that this "rumor" was false. If it was just a 'rumor", why did Mrs. Blackwell bother to report it to the police? Do people always report rumors to their local police station? "Yeah, I heard a good rumor about one of my neighbors and wanted to let you guys know about it." Please.
Here is the rest of the report by Jones.

Captain JONES stated his investigators had determined that the rumor was started by Mrs. BLACKWELL's sister, Mrs. LUTHER HOWLE...Captain JONES advised that this rumor was traced through Mrs. HOWLE back to a Mrs. MARGARET LEATH, an employee of Western Union Office...who upon interview stated that approximately five weeks ago, she was in the vicinity of the Continental Street underpass when the left side window of her car shattered. LEATH advised that there was no hole in the window glass that could have been caused by a bullet and a report was not made to the Police Department regarding said incident.
Captain JONES stated his investigators conducted an investigation of said car, a 1957 Rambler, and could find no evidence of a bullet having entered the car. (Ibid.)

So now instead of Mrs. Blackwell's sister being the victim, the DPD's "investigation" determined the real victim was a Mrs. Margaret Leath. How did they do this beyond an interview? Wouldn't a car be registered to a certain person? I would think so, but the DPD knew differently. Jones then states that there was "NO bullet hole in the window glass" (Sound familiar?) after he wrote that the window had shattered! If it shattered of course, you could find NO bullet hole in it. Duh! What caused it to shatter? Who knows since Jones never tells us. How extensive was their search of the car for the bullet that had "lodged in it?" Again, who knows since he never told us about it. Notice too that Jones is claiming that this incident was NOT reported to the DPD. Why would the U.S. Marshals say it was IF it wasn't?
Now, look at the "said car" and see what it is. It was a 1957 Rambler! A Rambler plays a very important role in this case, but we don't know the color of Margaret Leath's since Jones again doesn't tell us.

Was it the color seen by numerous witnesses in DP? Was it a station wagon? Who knows? Jones' "investigation" didn't bother to either find out or tell us these important details. I believe the fact this involved a Rambler is why the DPD quickly closed this down. It may have led to places they and the WC didn't want to go. True, it could be just a coincidence that a Rambler was involved, but I don't really believe in them when you look at cases like this one.
Why would someone fire at this car? Was it just a stray or was it planned? Something had to be a target, right? Remember, the automobile was hit in almost the EXACT spot that JFK's presidential limousine would be in when he was hit in the head. Again, you can think this was a coincidence or you can believe this was practice for what was coming. Personally, I don't like Disney World or Land so I will stick with the latter. Further confirmation of this being tied to the assassination is proven by the quick work the DPD did in making this just a rumor and getting it to go away. What were they afraid of? Well, if aren't a resident of "Fantasy Island" I think you can figure this one out.
We again see a very important incident brushed aside by the DPD and WC, therefore, their conclusion cannot be correct and is sunk once more.
