Is it just another coincidence that Jack Ruby’s roommate and employee ate where one of the WC’s star witnesses worked?
We know from Helen Markham’s testimony that she worked at the Eat Well Restaurant as a waitress.
Mr. BALL. Where do you work now?
Mrs. MARKHAM. Eat Well Restaurant, 1404 Main Street, Dallas, Tex.
Mr. BALL. Were you working there on November 22, 1963?
Mrs. MARKHAM. I was.
We see that Ruby’s roommate, George Senator, admitted in his WC testimony to going there.
Mr. GRIFFIN. Any particular place that you eat at regularly?
Mr. SENATOR. Yes.
Mr. GRIFFIN. Where?
Mr. SENATOR. I had a hangout. The Eat Well. There is three places that I normally went to. Eat Well, I always went there every morning, even on Sunday, and then the Chefette. Down where the Chefette is in the Hotel Adolphus and then the Walgren also in the Hotel Adolphus. Those are the three places I normally was always in.
We see that Senator not only went to the Eat Well restaurant, but that it was a HANGOUT of his that he went to every morning including Sundays! The spelling would be altered slightly for LaVerne Crafard’s testimony, but he went there too.
Mr. HUBERT. You did have a girl you went out with you used to meet at the Eatwell?
Mr. CRAFARD. One of the girls who worked for Jack.
Mr. HUBERT. Did you have a girl who worked at the Eatwell Restaurant that you dated?
Mr. CRAFARD. No, sir.
Mr. HUBERT. But you did go to the Eatwell Restaurant on Main Street, I think it was?
Mr. CRAFARD. It was on Commerce.
Mr. HUBERT. Commerce.
Mr. CRAFARD. I went there most of the time for my meals. It was, meals were cheap, nice place to go to, it was close, and I sat around there and joked with the girls and the one guy who worked in there I got acquainted with him a little bit.
Despite Mr. Crafard’s bad memory for addresses he too went there and “hanged out” out there quite a bit. Some have said Jack Ruby went there as well, but there is nothing is in his WC testimony to confirm this. We did see that the WC asked Crafard about this though.
Mr. GRIFFIN. Do you remember the two fellows who ran the Eatwell Restaurant?
Mr. CRAFARD. Not too well.
Mr. GRIFFIN. Were there a couple of older men?
Mr. CRAFARD. One older man that worked behind the counter in the evenings.
Mr. GRIFFIN. Did Jack also eat at the Eatwell?
Mr. CRAFARD. He didn't eat there when I was there with him, after I went to work for him. I understood the guy knew Jack real well, in fact he got in the habit of calling me Jack Ruby, Jr., or Little Ruby, in a kind of teasing manner. He was a very friendly person.
This shows that at least one of the owners knew Jack pretty well as he was kidding Crafard about being a “Jack Ruby, Jr.”. It also shows Ruby COULD HAVE eaten there before Crafard joined his club. This puts him in proximity of Helen Markham and the shooting of J.D. Tippit (JDT) was near Ruby’s apartment.
Is this just another coincidence?
