IF Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) used the alias “A. Hidell” as claimed by the Warren Commission (WC), when did he invent it?
On page 14 of the WC Report they wrote the following.

…In reality, Hidell was a completely fictitious person created by Oswald, the organization’s [FPCC] only member. (WCR, p. 14)

What is the basis for this claim by the WC? If we go to Volume VIII of the twenty-six volumes we will see this on page 318:

Affidavit of John Rene Heindel,
While in the Marine Corps I was often referred to as “Hidell”—pronounced so as to rhyme with “Rydell” rather than “Fidel.” This was a nickname and not merely an inadvertent mispronounciation. It is possible Oswald might have heard me being called by this name; indeed he himself might have called me “Hidell.” However, I have NO SPECIFIC RECOLLECTION of his either using or hearing this name. (Emphasis added) (Affidavit of John Rene Heindel, p. 318)

This is the sum total of the WC’s support for claiming LHO created this “fictitious name” himself. IF this was even true, and I doubt it since it is all guess work, it would show their claim is wrong anyway since it says he would have heard others call Heindel this! He would have gotten the idea from others instead of inventing it himself as the WC claimed. In addition to all of this, the rhyming is wrong too as Heindel said it was to rhyme with “Rydell” and NOT “Fidel”, but the WC and its defenders have said for fifty-seven years that he chose that alias because IT RHYMED WITH FIDEL! Does this make any sense to you?
Furthermore, in their OWN twenty-six volumes there is more evidence that LHO did NOT use the name “Hidell” ever. In CE-1789, page 402, we see this comment by Marina Oswald to the Secret Service (SS) on December 11, 1963.

So why did she later testify before the WC that he had?
Mr. RANKIN. Did you have any other discussions about you signing that name?
Mrs. OSWALD. Yes.
Mr. RANKIN. What discussion did you have?
Mrs. OSWALD. I said this sounds like Fidel. I said, “You have selected this name because it sounds like Fidel”, and he blushed and said, “Shut up, it is none of your business.”
Mr. RANKIN. Was there any discussion about who Hidell, as signed on the bottom of the card, was?
Mrs. OSWALD. He said that it was his own name and that there is no Hidell in existence, and I asked him, “You just have two names”, and he said, “Yes.”
What changed from December 11, 1963, until the time of her WC appearance on February 3, 1964? Her claimed reasoning of why he chose this name is at ODDS with the explanation we saw earlier too. She would continue with this comment to the WC.
Mr. RANKIN. How did you discover it, then?
Mrs. OSWALD. I already said that when I listened to the radio, they spoke of that name, and I asked him who, and he said that it was he.
Mr. RANKIN. But it was in regard to some interview for radio transmission, and he had identified himself as Hidell, rather than Oswald, is that right?
Mrs. OSWALD. No--he represented himself as Oswald, but he said that the organization which he supposedly represents is headed by Hidell.
Mr. RANKIN. He was using the name Hidell, then, to have a fictitious president or head of the organization which really was he himself, is that right?
Mrs. OSWALD. Yes.
Mr. DULLES. Did he use the name Hidell on the radio?
Mrs. OSWALD. …He spoke on the radio using his own name but might have mentioned the name Hidell. This is what he told me. When I tried to find out what he said on the radio. (I, pp. 64-65; V, p. 402)
So what changed between December 11, 1963, and February 3, 1964, (and her subsequent testimony)?
