The Warren Commission (WC) claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) assassinated President John F. Kennedy (JFK) all by himself on November 22, 1963.
In trying to make this claim seem possible the WC would ignore many leads showing that a conspiracy was involved in the assassination of JFK.
This isn't wild “CT kooky thinking” either, but rather what an honest person can deduce from reading the WC Report (WCR). This post will look at some of the examples of the WC simply ignoring things when it pointed to a conspiracy.
*****************************************
The WC employed denial, obfuscation, subterfuge and outright falsehood instead of actual supporting evidence for their claims. In the WC Report (WCR) there is a “Speculations and Rumors” section where they claim to show how the speculations of the conspiracy community are incorrect.
In reality the “speculations and rumors” came from the WC itself as there is no supporting evidence for any of their “commission findings” in this section. We will look at some of these findings in this post.

Speculation. – Oswald was the victim of police brutality.
Commission finding. – Oswald resisted arrest in the Texas Theatre and drew a gun. He received a slight cut over his right eye and a bruise under his left eye in the course of his struggles. During the time he was in police custody, he was neither ill-treated or abused. (WCR, pp. 654-655)

As we have seen previously in this series there is no firm evidence for showing that LHO ever drew a gun in the Texas Theatre (TT). Further, how does one resist arrest when there was no legal reason to arrest someone? There was NO arrest warrant issued for LHO. There had been no All Points Bulletin (A.P.B.) issued for LHO. No one inside or around the entrance of the TT had witnessed LHO committing a crime. What possible reason did the Dallas Police Department (DPD) have for arresting LHO at 1:51 p.m. on November 22, 1963?
At best they could have detained him for questioning. That is it. This was an unlawful arrest and here are some rulings regarding this act.

“An illegal arrest is an assault and battery. The person so attempted to be restrained of his liberty has the same right to use force in defending himself as he would in repelling any other assault and battery.” (State v. Robinson, 145 ME. 77, 72 ATL. 260).
“Each person has the right to resist an unlawful arrest. In such a case, the person attempting the arrest stands in the position of a wrongdoer and may be resisted by the use of force, as in self- defense.” (State v. Mobley, 240 N.C. 476, 83 S.E. 2d 100).
“When a person, being without fault, is in a place where he has a right to be, is violently assaulted, he may, without retreating, repel by force, and if, in the reasonable exercise of his right of self defense, his assailant is killed, he is justified.” (Runyan v. State, 57 Ind. 80; Miller v. State, 74 Ind. 1.)
“These principles apply as well to an officer attempting to make an arrest, who abuses his authority and transcends the bounds thereof by the use of unnecessary force and violence, as they do to a private individual who unlawfully uses such force and violence.” (Jones v. State, 26 Tex. App. I; Beaverts v. State, 4 Tex. App. 1 75; Skidmore v. State, 43 Tex. 93, 903.)

The DPD had no arrest warrant, therefore, they had no legal right to arrest LHO which meant that LHO had a legal right to defend himself. The DPD knew this. The WC knew this since their chairman was the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
So they invented the false story of LHO pulling a gun on the officers. LHO was heard to say several times that he was not resisting arrest and this would be a ludicrous thing to do IF you had just pulled a gun on the police. As we have also seen previously in this series Officer Nick McDonald told the media early on that he had drawn his gun so he could have shot LHO if he had done what they later claimed that he did.
The WC's “finding” is erroneous as one cannot resist arrest when there is no legal right for the arrest in the first place. So after all that doublespeak it is apparent that the police did use brutality on LHO after all.

Speculation. – Ruby and Oswald were seen together at the Carousel Club.
Commission finding. – All assertions that Oswald was seen in the company of Ruby or anyone else at the Carousel Club have been investigated. None of them merits any credence. (WCR, p. 662)

This is typical WC doublespeak. They said they investigated the assertions that LHO was seen at the Carousel Club in the company of Ruby, but they clearly never investigated the possibility that a LHO lookalike was at the Carousel Club in the company of Ruby. That possibility is just as important as the first one.
The WC had testimony by Ruth Paine stating that Larry Crafard looked a lot like LHO and he was employed at the Carousel Club.
Mr. JENNER - There have been marked as Commission's exhibits in this series 451 and 453 to 456, a series of five colored photographs purporting to be photographs of one Curtis LaVerne Crafard, taken on the 28th day of November 1963.
Mrs. Paine would you be good enough to look at each of those, and after you have looked at them, I wish to ask you a question.
Mrs. PAINE - I have looked at them all.
Mr. JENNER - Calling on your recollection of the physiognomy and appearance of Lee Oswald, do you detect a resemblance between the man depicted in those photographs, the exhibit numbers of which I have given, and Lee Oswald?
Mrs. PAINE – Yes; I do.
We have also seen how the WC itself said that Texas School Book Depository (TSBD) employee Billy Lovelady had a strong resemblance to LHO. Did the WC investigate if either of these guys were the person seen with Jack Ruby at the Carousel Club? No is the answer. How about William Seymour? No.
They just took the one option and ran with it. Most likely it was not the real LHO seen at the Carousel Club, but rather a lookalike, therefore, it is no shock that the WC found no evidence of such a sighting. A lookalike in the company of Ruby points to a conspiracy just as much and the WC ignored this option totally. Why?

Speculation. – Oswald could not have known the motorcade route before he arrived at work on November 22.
Commission finding. – The motorcade route was published in both Dallas papers on November 19 and was therefore available at least 72 hours before Oswald reported for work on November 22. (WCR, p. 642)

As I have covered previously in this series it is questionable that the motorcade route depicting the turns onto Houston and Elm Streets were available to LHO as even the WC published a cropped front page of the Dallas Morning News (DMN) that removed the map of the route.

That is the key point here. It can be debated whether or not the motorcade route depicting the two turns, but it isn't really debatable that LHO saw this in a newspaper. No evidence was ever put forth showing that LHO knew about the motorcade coming near the TSBD.
In fact, as we have seen previously in this series the employees of the TSBD who were asked said that they didn't learn of this [motorcade coming near the TSBD] until about 10:30 a.m. on the morning of November 22, 1963. And yet, we are asked to believe that LHO somehow knew about it days before.
We again see that the “Commission finding” is the real speculation. This post illustrates again that the WC never investigated many viable leads and any possibility that would lead to a conspiracy, therefore, their conclusion cannot be correct and thus it is sunk again.
