This question has always been a key issue of the JFK assassination. The movement we see just after Z313 is clearly towards the rear. To say "all shots are from the rear" means that a single shooter was likely involved. On the contrary, if the rear motion can only be from a shot originating from the front direction, then an additional shooter must have been part of the assassination plot. Proving that a rear shot can cause rear head movement has become a necessity for a single shooter theory. Over the years, many attempts at proving this hypothesis have been presented. Bottom line, I have yet to see an accurate physical model or computer simulation that supports this theory. When the actual position of the body is taken into account, and the physics are analyzed, the only final conclusion is that motion after Z313 is due to a shot originating from the front.
Over the years, many models with skulls have been presented. In one case, a skull on a spring was presented that caused a secondary motion towards the back. The initial momentum was forward only to store potential energy and then drive the rear secondary motion. If you look closely at these films and simulations, you will most definitely see the forward momentum in the direction of the projectile prior to any rear movement.
The best model that I have seen for understanding this is the "Ballistic Pendulum Experiment". We had to run this experiment in one of my physics classes. A 4 x 4 x 12 inch block is hung from a couple cables to form a pendulum. A 22 caliper bullet was shot into the block and the amount of pendulum swing was measured. Using the momentum laws and the pendulum equations, you can verify the swing motion. The motion is in the direction of the projectile. A front shot causes the pendulum to swing to the rear.
Another way to look at this is to say answer the question "if a rear shot occurred in Z313, then how would the body move". The body would have moved forward towards the seat in front.
I look forward to any feedback or comments.
Thank you
