The Warren Commission (WC) claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) assassinated President John F. Kennedy (JFK) all by himself on November 22, 1963. He supposedly fired three shots from the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD) building to accomplish this feat.
Some researchers have said that LHO was outside at the front entrance of the TSBD at the time of the assassination, but the WC said that this was TSBD employee Billy Lovelady and not LHO. If this is so then this raises an interesting question.

Why did the WC provide NO photographs of Billy Lovelady for the reader to compare to the Altgens photograph?
The WC would state the following in their “Speculation and Rumors” section of the WCR.

Speculation.--A picture published widely in newspapers and magazines after the assassination showed Lee Harvey Oswald standing on the front steps of the Texas School Book Depository Building shortly before the President's motorcade passed by.
Commission finding.-- The man on the front steps of the building, thought or alleged by some to be Lee Harvey Oswald, is actually Billy Lovelady, an employee of the Depository, who somewhat resembles Oswald. Lovelady has identified himself in the picture, and other employees of the Depository standing with him, as shown in the picture, have verified that he was the man in the picture and that Oswald was not there. If we look at the Altgens photograph in question (Commission Exhibit (CE) 900 & CE 203—better quality) you will see a man standing near the wall of the arch leading to the front door of the TSBD.
CE 900: www.historymatters.com/archive/jfk/wc/wcvols/wh18/pages/WH_Vol18_0054a.jpg
CE 203: www.historymatters.com/archive/jfk/wc/wcvols/wh16/pages/WH_Vol16_0304b.jpg
As we see the WC claimed this was Billy Lovelady, but they did not give us any photographs of him in the twenty-six volumes or in the WCR to compare for ourselves. Why NOT? Now, in the many years since 1964 we have of course seen photographs of him, but why was the WC afraid to show us what he looked like? In fact, it is believed that no WC member ever met Billy Lovelady either as his WC testimony was given in deposition form to two WC lawyers (Joseph Ball and Samuel Stern). They based this claim of it being him on several witness statements, but both William Shelley and Billy Lovelady said he was SITTING ON THE STEPS at the time of the motorcade! How could he be sitting on the steps and standing near the wall that led to the front door at the same time?
Mr. Ball. You ate your lunch on the steps?
Mr. Lovelady. Yes, sir.
Mr. Ball. Did you stay on the steps?
Mr. Lovelady. Yes.
Shelley said in his FBI statement that he did not see LHO, but you can see in the Altgens photograph that LHO would have been BEHIND him and kind of out of sight to someone on the steps UNLESS they turned around and really looked for them. Since Shelley had NO reason to be looking for LHO it is understandable that he did NOT do this. LHO was not standing or sitting with the group of Shelley, Lovelady, Wesley Frazier and Sarah Stanton so their not seeing him is NOT proof that he was NOT in the doorway as many have claimed.
We also saw in an earlier post in this series that Lovelady told the FBI just days after the assassination that he was wearing a SHORT-SLEEVED shirt with vertical, alternating, large red and white stripes and it was buttoned at the neck. This looks NOTHING like the shirt we see the man in the Altgens photograph wearing as his is a LONG-SLEEVED, NON-RED AND WHITE STRIPED shirt and it is NOT buttoned at the neck. It is open and we can see a white T-shirt underneath. Could this be why the FBI did NOT put Billy Lovelady in the recreation photograph or allow his photograph to be published?
Why didn't the WC publish a photograph of Billy Lovelady so readers could compare him to the man in the doorway? Also, why did they not compare the shirt seen in the photograph with the shirt Lovelady said he was wearing on November 22, 1963?
These unanswered questions raise doubts of the WC's claim, therefore, their conclusion is unsupported and sunk.
